Revisiting the antenna switches

At the moment, I run a pair of coax switches and they run in a somewhat bizarre fashion.

The vertical feeds into a switch that can connect to the G90 or crosses over to a second switch that feeds the IC706, but cuts off the dipole in the process.

I don't care too much for it. Right now it's up out of the way in a difficult to reach spot and any other combination requires some effort getting up there to fiddle around.

I've decided on running 4 switches - 1 for each antenna, and one for each radio. I'll then have a set of cross overs, all connected on a panel on my desk.

Right now I have a small shelf my radios sit on under my primary monitor. It works. Under it tends to accumulate junk.  My inclination is to build a panel to fit over it. It'll have a number of holes to allow cables in, and I'll mount the switches on that. It probably won't be pretty.

Putting it there however will allow me to significantly limit the patch lead length.

Obviously it's not perfect but then there's always that challenge of trying to balance finding something that works and something that suits. Right now it doesn't suit.

I want to keep it as simple as possible. The switches are 3 way, so there is room there for easy connection of additional radios.
