A Quick SSTV QSO on 40m.

In the middle of watching Game of Thrones with the XYL, I noticed that Lee VK2LEE was on 40m calling CQ.

The XYL knicked outside for a few minutes, so I took the opportunity to rush a quick response - so quick I forgot to manually enter his callsign,

Still, I'm happy with that. He was pushing 80w, and I was pushing 10w through the IC706Mk2G using the XGGComms Digimode4.

Lee had earlier in the week been trying to send on 20m to see if i could receive him, and I'd had no luck (mostly as 20m was noisy at the time). Great to have been able to pull off a successful SSTV QSO on 40m. That's my first for the band.

I wish it hadn't been quite so rushed, but alas.. amateur radio is one of those things we do around the rest of our lives. The marginally safer option would have been not waiting around long enough to send my 73. We've got to try these things.
