FedEx & Singapore
Yet again, I have something on FedEx that has landed in Singapore and sat there. Hopefully this time not for as long. My antenna is due Tuesday, and I’d rather quite like it to be here by then.
Hopefully along with the RG213 and the plugs I’ve been waiting weeks for.
I ran something of a pull line yesterday for it. Given where the feedline will come in, I can’t exactly get close, but using a cable feeder, a loop of old CAT5 and my fibreglass rods I was able to snag it, pull it over to the nearest manhole which is within relatively easy range of where I need to feed the line down the wall. This might get me 10 minutes closer to being ready to go when the bits finally arrive. Expecting less than ideal weather during the week, so the less time needed up the ladder, the better chance of getting this done. Should the antenna arrive before the RG213 I may just use the 15m run from the ceiling dipole. I should be able to get that under the back door, and loop around to where I need it.
Seeing a lot of interesting traffic on the ceiling dipole yesterday – traffic from the US on 40m, which was a first. Overnight I seemed to have picked up a CQ response for VK4 coming from Indonesia. This morning a call from “SMO Malta” heading for VK0 (Antartic). I’ve kinda forgot to actually hunt around for voice on the off chance.
