I hate waiting for online orders…
Slowly some radio gear is trickling in. A couple of cables, but enough to start on my next two jobs:
- I’ve had an antenna for the car for a few years that is tuned for 2m & 70cm, so that’s on the car. I’ve received a lead with an SMA plug on it to connect to the old Baofeng UV-5R, as I’ve decided it’s destined for the car. I just need my order of plugs for a gender changer and an adapter to connect the flylead in the middle. Hopefully when that’s done, I can work out how to put the pad beside the backseat back on. This radio will be redundant when the DMR-1702 arrives.
- I need to jack up the Diamond D150, as it’s currently too low to clear the roof and get any kind of visibility anywhere other than south. I’ve grabbed a 1.8m pole that *should* fit inside the existing mount. I haven’t been able to test it yet as it’s been wet, and the only ladder I have that can get up there isn’t that confidence inspiring. Luckily a 3m lead appeared in the mail today that will let me extend the feedline so I don’t need to climb back in the ceiling and pull cable back. Not entirely sure how I’ll go doing this. I guess we’ll see….

- My DMR-1702 is apparently in the country. Waiting.
- My RTL-SDR has been with Aramex/Fastway “sorting” for the past week. Hmmm.
